The Keurig K3500 has several error codes associated with this unit. Some of these codes will be passive and will still allow the unit to function normally and then there are codes that will require a system reset or reboot (unplug/plug and turn it on again).
In addition, there are a few codes that you will not be able to reset the brewer and you will need to replace components or send it off to an authorized repair shop. Since this unit is still relatively new in the industry as I write this post, I will try my best to give good descriptions for each K3500 Error Code that is available. Codes can appear on the home screen and in the Technician Program.

This error can have two results, The first and easiest is quite simple. The hot tank does not fill within the allotted time and the machine faults.
The second reason can be the hot tank Thermal Cut-out has faulted (just like a fuse it pops) The Hot tank module will need to be replaced in this instance
Similar to the first error but on the preheat hot water tank thermal cut-out has popped or blown or the tank is still empty. The error is visible on the screen until it is rectified. Once the tank is replaced the error can be reset by turning the machine on again.
Once the brewer dispenses 2000 brews the unit will ask for it to be descaled You can keep using the machine with this message and you can Dismiss the message from the display.
This error is the cold-water tank is not filling up in the given time. The machine will not function until the error is fixed (replace the cold tank) to reset the machine you just need to turn the unit back on after fixing the error.
An overfill has been detected. The cold-water tank level is low. You will have to reset the machine and clear the error. The cold-water tank might need to be replaced.
The preheat hot tank is too cold. This can happen if the machine temperature is under >40F. (If the machine was stored in the cold for any reason) You need to wait for the machine to warm before the start-up procedure. If a reset doesn’t clear this issue, it may need a replacement of the Hot tank module
The brew hot tank is too cold. This can happen if the machine temperature is under >40F. (If the machine was stored in the cold for any reason) You need to wait for the machine to warm before the start-up procedure. If a reset doesn’t clear this issue, it may need a replacement of the Hot tank module
The preheat hot tank has overheated. Restart the brewer.
The brew hot tank has overheated.
4oz fill has timed out. This could be an indication there is a clog in the entrance needle or the exit needle or a scale build-up in the hot tank
Top of tank sensed on post-fill. This would be a scale buildup issue, you can descale your machine or it may need the hot tank replaced
6oz fill has timed out, this could be an indication there is a clog in the entrance needle or the exit needle or a scale build-up in the hot tank
8oz fill has timed out, this could be an indication there is a clog in the entrance needle or the exit needle or a scale build-up in the hot tank
10oz fill has timed out, this could be an indication there is a clog in the entrance needle or the exit needle or a scale build-up in the hot tank
12oz fill has timed out, this could be an indication there is a clog in the entrance needle or the exit needle or a scale build-up in the hot tank
The vent valve is defective and will need to be replaced
Overpressure is detected, I have seen this error before and have had to clean out the entrance needle. You need to remove the shroud that covers the Kcup holder area. Once removed pull off the rubber valve above the entrance needle and clean it from debris. Don’t forget to clean the needle as well.
Dispense timeout detected solution is the same as above error 17 – in addition perform a rinse brew.
K3500 Error 19
The heater has timed-out The heater had taken longer than 10 minutes to reach optimal temperature. This error code is a good indication the hot water tank module will need to be replaced. The module has failed and requires replacement
Temperature sensor malfunction Again this is a failure of the hot water module and requires replacement to repair.
Top of tank sensed on fill, this error is a good indication your unit needs a descale or the hot water module requires replacement to repair.
